The YMCA and YWCA have both served the Spokane region for more than 100 years. The YMCA has focused on supporting youth and families to create strong kids, strong families and strong communities. The YWCA has helped women and children move from crisis to opportunity to achieve their mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. The leaders of these organizations have made an historic decision that will put Spokane on the national forefront of community development. This campaign will enable these two organizations to create program collaboration and first-in-the-nation facilities. No other campaign in Spokane’s history has had this impact. The Your Y campaign will: • Serve 70,000 people – 1 out of 6 Spokane County residents – an increase of 40% in people served. • Serve all ages including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, teens, young adults, adults, and seniors. • Respond to the changing needs of our region by placing 440,000 residents within a 15-minute drive of the three Y facilities (Central, North, Valley). • Achieve more than $2 million in cost savings and efficiencies.
